There is no better way to experience the incredible beauty
of Lake Tahoe than from the lake itself. We provide
open-deck and closed-deck kayaks from Ocean Kayak, Necky,
and Perception. The open-deck (sit-on-top) kayaks are
popular with beginners, but we also have
"recreational" (sit-inside) kayaks suitable for
novice paddlers.
Experienced paddlers have
the option of renting traditional closed-deck touring
kayaks, both singles and doubles, if you can convince us
that you have had appropriate self-rescue and partner-rescue
training (i.e., use of paddle float and T-rescue
techniques).
We also have an extensive selection of stand-up paddleboards (S.U.P.)
from Surftech, GLS, and Liquid Shredder, in a variety of
lengths and styles.

Open-deck kayak rentals
include life vests, paddles, backrests, and basic instruction.
Closed-deck touring kayak rentals also include spray skirts, bilge pumps, and paddle floats. Wet
suits and dry bags are also available at an extra
charge. |

Come to our Timber
Cove shop if you want to car-top your rental to
another location in the Lake Tahoe area. We can
provide cam straps and padding for securing kayaks or
boards to
the roof of your vehicle (but we won't do it for you).
There is a $10 charge for take-aways. Please note that
take-away
rentals must be returned by 4:30 PM! With prior
arrangement, you can keep the kayak or board overnight
for an extra $10, but it must be back at the shop at 9
AM opening time. |

There is a 2-hour minimum and $5 accessory
charge for touring kayak rentals. |

Attention Group
Leaders:
Print out a copy of our Rental Contract and
Liability Release. Print one copy of the Rental Contract
(this is usually filled out by the credit card holder), and
then as many Liability Releases as you need for your group
(there is room for four people per page). Staple them
together for us and you will be on the water faster!
