Kayak Tahoe is committed to helping people find a safe and fun way to get to know the sport of paddling or improve your current skills. We offer a variety of courses for the beginner, intermediate and advanced paddler. We have A.C.A trained instructors on staff that will insure that you will learn the best and safest ways to enjoy your time on the water. Reservations are recommended for all Kayak School classes.

Introduction to Kayak Touring
If you would like to try paddling a traditional one person kayak but are not interested in getting wet (as required in a beginning lesson) this class is for you. After an introduction to your kayak equipment and paddling skills you will venture out on the lake with your instructor. While enjoying your first gliding strokes in a kayak you will get further instruction on paddling, safety and related topics. This class is also recommended for the sit-on-top paddlers.
Cost: $35.00, Time: 1 1/2 hours

Beginning Kayak Touring
This lesson will cover the skills necessary for you to feel comfortable paddling with other experienced paddlers. You will be getting wet during this session (wet suits are included.) You will practice we t exits and two person rescues. Paddling skills, bracing and safety will also be covered. On completion of this lesson, you will be able to rent our traditional single kayaks provided, you are accompanied by a companion of the same or higher skill level.
Cost: $65.00, Time: 4 hours
Includes all equipment, instruction and half price rentals on your next visit.

Intermediate Lesson
This lesson is for people that have taken our beginning lesson or for people that have done some paddling but would like to improve their skills. We will cover self rescues, more advanced strokes, bracing and "body fu!"
Cost: $40.00, Time: 2 hours

Learn to Kayak Weekends
A great way to get started! We will cover all aspects of kayak touring described in the beginner and intermediate lessons and much more!
Cost: $180.00, Time: 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Eskimo Roll Class
Definitely recommended for river rats or those aspiring to be a river rat. Learn to right yourself in an instant. Sea kayakers paddle with confidence with the Eskimo roll as an additional method of rescue. Not to mention…its Fun!
Cost: $32.00, Time 1 hour

Beginning River Kayaking
This class is designed to get you ready for moving water. Paddle strokes, bracing and kayak control will be emphasized with a little practice you will find that even the smallest kayak can be taught to go straight.
Cost: $65.00
Time: 4 hours
