COVID-19 Information


Weather permitting, we will be open at three of our four locations, Pope Beach, Baldwin Beach, and Timber Cove Marina. Hours of operation will be from 10am – 5pm with last rentals going out at 4pm and back by 5pm. Kayak Tahoe will also be operating with 50% less capacity so availability may be a problem. In an effort to accommodate the most amount of people rental times will be 1hr minimum and 2hr maximum. We will not be opening our Nevada Beach location this year. We hope to open our Vikingsholm (Emerald Bay) location sometime mid-August. Please read our COVID-19 check list and our "Additional Things to Remember" and "Cold Water Consideration" text below.


Thank you for your interest and understanding with our new operating requirements. This summer will be different for customers and our employees alike. Please understand that we are working within the guidelines given and we hope that next time you visit we can provide the service and expertise we are known for.




COVID-19 Check List


  • Per California guidelines, please wear a mask where social distancing is limited, even when outside.

  • Please have a credit card handy before entering the line.

  • If needed please go to the bathroom before entering the line.

  • Please apply sunscreen before entering the line.

  • Please be ready to get wet. i.e. have clothing on that can get wet.

  • Kayak Tahoe is not permitted to hold any personal Items.

  • Kayak Tahoe is not permitted to rent dry bags to customers.

  • Please leave unneeded items in your car.

  • Kayak Tahoe is not permitted to collect trash form customers.

Additional Things to Remember:


  • You will get wet so please wear suitable clothing.

  • Preferably have footwear that can get wet.

  • Please come prepared to rent before you sign up at our table. i.e. Make sure everyone in the group has gone to the bathroom, applied sunscreen, have their food and water and are ready to receive instruction.

  • Children older than 4 years old and under 50lbs can be a third person on a double kayak.

  • Remember to have FUN!


Cold Water Consideration:


  • Families with small children and anyone affected by cold water should be cautious and realistic about their swimming ability and experience level. We have provided some links below for two of the most common cold water emergencies. Thank you and we hope to see you on the water soon.
